Sacred Art in the Classical Tradition
Segnatura Fine Arts offers archival-quality, giclée on canvas versions of the paintings of contemporary artist Leonard Porter. Segnatura features sets of Leonard Porter’s award winning 14 Stations of the Cross, as well as individual saints and other religious images. It is our goal to help fill the gap between the need for fine, resonant art, and the availability of fine sacred art for churches, religious institutions and the home.
There is a strong demand for high quality ecclesiastical art. Yet over the past century, contemporary artists have often turned away from Christian themes. Churches looking for masterful, contemporary art have very few options. Commissioning new original art is often prohibitively expensive. Segnatura Fine Art was formed to offer thoughtful, moving works of art – at a fraction of the cost – to more parishes and individuals, bringing fine sacred art to those who might otherwise not have the chance to experience it.
Our name was inspired by the Stanza della Segnatura in the Vatican. In this great room with walls painted by Raphael, the Classical tradition of Athens is wedded to the Christian tradition of Jerusalem. Raphael masterly represented the world of Heaven and Earth unified by the Eucharist on one side and Man’s struggle to comprehend all that is with a gathering of Classical philosophers on the other. This High Renaissance masterpiece ushered in a new era of ecclesiastical art.

Truth and Beauty
“This world in which we live needs beauty in order not to sink into despair. Beauty, like truth, brings joy to the human heart, and is that precious fruit which resists the erosion of time, which unites generations and enables them to be one in admiration.”
“Christianity from its earliest days has recognized the value of the arts and has made wise use of their varied language to express her unvarying message of salvation.”
